Women Who Renovate And Reinvent

In the month of March we celebrated women in construction and the trades. An industry that continues to grow but will flourish as we continue to lift up women in the trades and the skill set they can bring to the job site.

Renovating a home is more than just an upgrade—it’s an opportunity for reinvention. At Next Step Innovations, we specialize in transforming outdated spaces into stunning, modern living areas that reflect your personal style. The women of Next Step bring a unique blend of expertise in design, entertainment, and the trades. Our diverse backgrounds have taught us to think creatively and approach every project with fresh ideas, ensuring that your Denver home renovation goes beyond expectations.

Meet The Women Of Next Step Innovations

With over 20 years of experience Lead Designer Michelle Herbert’s deep understanding of design aesthetics, color theory, and market trends has made her  a sought-after designer in both the apparel and interior design industries. After joining the team at Next Step Innovations, our high-end kitchen Denver remodel was showcased on Colorado’s Best Kitchens magazine, further cementing her status as a  top interior designer in the Denver area. Her unique blend of apparel design and interior design expertise, coupled with her  passion for creating exceptional, personalized  spaces, continues to shape her impactful career.

Operations Manager Isabella Chacon started her career far from the construction industry in the entertainment world. The realization came 6 months ago that the process of bringing a show to life or transforming a fictional character from the screen into a tangible toy is more closely related to helping someone create their dream home than one might imagine. Similar to manufacturing collectibles, remodeling homes follows a comparable process. There are many moving parts, artists, craftsmen, and managers who all have to work in perfect harmony to deliver a top of the line project on time and on budget.

A creative approach has always been Isabella’s number one tool in her kit. Eager to continue her mission of creation, inspiration, and rising to new challenges, she brings her unique background and drive to Next Step Innovations.

AP and Purchasing Manager Mayreth Barraza started at Next Step two years ago when Daniel Barraza, her brother and founder of Next Step Innovations, invited Mayreth to join his skilled team of home renovation specialists. She hasn’t looked back since. In 2023 she started as a salesperson working on our window coverings team and later transitioned into handling purchasing and cabinet orders. After relocating showrooms, she took on even more responsibilities, and now manages accounts payable and purchasing. As anyone in construction knows, multitasking and time management are essential skills. Construction has always been a part of her life, thanks to their father, who is a career contractor with a lifetime of experience. Being surrounded by this work has given Mayreth a deep appreciation for the industry and the hard work that goes into every project. Mayreth is excited to keep growing, learning, and contributing to Next Step Innovation’s success!
